I think we can all agree that there is a lot going on in the world to feel stressed or anxious about. This applies to everyone in your family, not just you, or just your kids. And yes, it affects how we treat each other at times. I know all about it.
Luckily, Mindfulness has taught me how to cope with pretty much every curve ball life throws at us. Practising Mindfulness increases a sense of calmness and improves emotion regulation. It helps with being more self-aware and improves attentiveness and control impulse. These, and many other benefits have helped millions of people find calm and regain balance in their lives.

What is Mindfulness?

Mindfulness means paying full attention to something, whatever it is. It means slowing down to really notice what you’re doing. Being mindful is the opposite of rushing or multitasking. When you’re mindful, you’re taking your time. You’re focusing in a relaxed, easy way.

For parents who are interested in learning more about how Mindfulness can help their families find their calm.

What are the benefits?

Mindfulness provides kids with simple, practical tools to work directly with their nervous systems, helping them regulate emotional states and focus attention. These improved concentration skills, translate to improved performance. It helps children do better in many aspects of life, including sports, school and arts. Everyone does better when we’re paying attention to what we’re doing.

What is included?

This Webinar introduces the basic concept of what Mindfulness is and how it can benefit your family.

How does it work?

After registration you will receive a confirmation email with the Zoom meeting details. You are requested to install the Zoom Video meeting application on your computer (recommended), phone or tablet. You can download their free software here: https://zoom.us/. About 10 minutes before the session starts you will receive a reminder with the Zoom meeting details.

About Henrieke

I love working with families and children. As a Certified Elementary School teacher with nearly 10 years experience, I discovered mindfulness through a Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction course. I immediately thought that this is what I want to teach children! Mindfulness is so much more than a focussing strategy; I dare to say it’s the foundation of all learning.

Do I need to attend with my partner?

That’s entirely up to you. Some families do and some families don’t. It is however recommended to share the things you’ll be learning with the other parent or caregivers in the household.

What if I’m not available on one of these dates?

We’ll probably offer this Webinar again on different dates. Please email us at live@familyfive.app if you are interested and we’ll notify you once a new session is scheduled.

Can I also book 1-on-1 sessions with the Expert?

At the moment Family5 only offers Workshops for groups of people. We do this keep it affordable and accessible. However, you are free to ask the Expert for contact details and request 1-on-1 sessions. If the Expert is fully booked you can check out the Family5 Expert network for other available Experts or book another group session instead.
